My Story

Born into a family of artists, I spent much of my childhood in the art school and studios where my mother taught and painted. My life has always had a creative focus, I did both art and design at school, studied a BA in graphic design and completed a few internships. From there I worked for Hatch Creations, a small integrated graphic and web design agency for six years, freelanced for Greenwich Time, spent three years working on exciting projects for the luxury brand, Sotheby’s London, and have since worked as a freelancer.

I have a passion for health, sustainability, travel and nature, I enjoy exploring different cultures, perspectives, foods and ways of life. I love meeting new people, and spending time with old friends, absorbing sun rays, feeling the velvet sea breeze as waves wash over my feet, dancing in the rain on a warm summer’s day and watching sparkles, reflections and shadows play.

What they say…

I confirm that Natalie Nolte has been employed at Hatch Creations from 05.2005 to the 07.2011. Her role being Studio Manager, involves all aspects of the day to day running of a compact but busy London based agency with the following responsibilities:

• client consultation

• project planning, scheduling & timekeeping

• conceptualising & brainstorming

• assisting in presentations & pitches

• designing, laying out and artworking projects

• setting up & organising product photoshoots

• abstracting & interpreting client brief

• costing, quoting & invoicing

• workload delegation & overseeing all jobs

• training of interns & juniors

Natalie is fully competent in all major design software packages and is highly skilled in:

• design for print & online media

• product photography

• proof reading, checking & copy writing

• high end art working

• html / css coding

• typography and layout

Natalie has a finger on the design industry pulse with an intuitive creative foresight, making her an asset to anyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. She is trustworthy, reliable and a good communicator. In her six years of employment at Hatch, she has been consistently passionate about her work and always gives a hundred percent.

I would happily re-employ Natalie as I consider her to be a valuable member of the team, who achieves good results and delivers on all expectations.

Kind Regards,
James Dexter (Creative Director)

Natalie came to our rescue for six months last year when Greenwich Time lost a designer. In no time at all she added sparkling newspaper design to her already extensive talents.

She produced attractive, effective pages within our tight weekly deadline, and especially important to me was her flexibility and unflappability. If there were a crisis you wouldn’t have seen evidence of it in Natalie’s work.

Like many hacks, my own technical knowledge is rudimentary to put it flatteringly, so an added bonus was Natalie’s ability and readiness to come round and mend my Nohah’s Quark!

We would have no hesitation in taking her on full time if Government cuts allowed, and I have no hesitation in recommending her for any design project that comes her way.

Best wishes,
Peter Cordwell (Greenwich Time editor, 2001-2011)
